Water damage and liquid damage are the most common issues we see with laptops (in particular) and desktops. Whether someone has left their laptop in a bag that got wet or spilled their morning coffee on the keyboard, water is never a good mixture with technology. Our technicians can help you to figure out the extent of the water damage and give you a quote on how much it will cost to get it back to running like new. Or, if the water damage is too extreme, whether it is time to buy a new one.
When we say “water” we don’t just mean water – it can be any type of liquid: coffee, champagne, alcohol, iced tea, soup, spaghetti sauce, rainwater, pool water, soda, juice, or even drool from when you fell asleep going over data.
If you do spill liquid onto your laptop, the main thing you need to know is that you shouldn’t panic, this doesn’t mean the end of the line. First, pull out your battery and flip over your laptop so that the liquid can drip out of the machine. Allowing it to sit can do even more damage to the internal electrical components. Leave it open and upside down while you are contacting us for the water damage repair, if possible. Do not turn the computer on or you may be making the problem worse.
Our team can then look inside of your computer to check the components, dry up and internal spills, and get it back to working like new. At the very least, we can pull personal or business files that you want to preserve.
