Most laptops with a hard drive or SATA SSD can be upgraded. Some newer thin-and-light models have storage soldered to the motherboard and cannot be. Bring yours in with the charger and we’ll check your exact model before anything is purchased.
Both are far faster than a hard drive. SATA SSDs use the same connection as older drives and work in almost anything; NVMe drives plug directly into the motherboard and are considerably faster for large files and modern games. We recommend whichever your machine supports and your workload actually benefits from.
Typically a day or two once the drive is in hand — most of that is careful cloning and testing. Very full drives take longer to clone, and we’d rather clone carefully than quickly. You’ll get a realistic timeline with your quote.
